A large majority of South African parents support implementing smartphone restrictions or bans in schools. That's according to a recent Karri Survey. Concerns around cyberbullying, online safety and mental health is driving calls to restrict children's digital access. Most parents surveyed by Karri want tighter controls on cellphones at school and believe children should be at least 16 before accessing social media. The survey found that 91% of South African school parents are strongly in favour of tighter controls on children's phone use during the school day.
