The SACP in the Western Cape says its national leadership has launched a court interdict, challenging the ANC's decision to remove SACP Provincial Secretary, Benson Ngqentsu, from the Western Cape Provincial Legislature.

Ngqentsu, and two other SACP councillors in the Southern Cape and Overberg regions, have been dismissed following claims they joined another political party.
