I generally ride about half a metre from the kerb, but take a left-hand corners a bit wider because some drivers are seemingly unable to go around a corner without cutting towards the kerb.
It's not nice to have someone cut towards a kerb when you're next to it.
These corners often have railings alongside them.
As a result, I ride about a metre from the kerb so that, if someone does stray too close, at least you have escape room!
After letting a driver know she had a brake light out, the driver of CE61OXZ cuts the corner coming very close to me.
So close, their wing mirror was just 6-8 inched from my handlebars!
CE61OXZ.... Bit wider next time please!!
PS: Apologies to any religious viewers..... the lack of a pause after my exclaimation of "Jesus!" makes it sound a little insulting!
