This is a gameplay sample for Castlevania: Bloodlines on the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive. Konami's games on the Genesis were all different from their Snes counterparts, and Bloodlines is a very solid game, but also hits me with a similar, but also very different feel from the average Castlevania game. Maybe it's because it's on the Genesis, but something about it has always felt a little different to me when compared to the other games in the series.
I said in my Castlevania Chronicles review that Chronicles may be the hardest Castlevania game I have played so far, but I forgot about Bloodlines which is also really hard for the simple fact that, unlike other Castlevania games, Bloodlines does not give you infinite continues. You have a set amount of continues, so it's like Contra, or even the Shinobi games where you have to learn it, and improve with the game with continuous playthroughts in order to master it to beat it. Not my favotire game in the series, but still a very good Castlevania game overall. Two characters to play as, and I'm using the spear guy over the traditional belmont wip guy. Each character has their own unique moves as well.
