The Castle of Podenzano is a medieval castle located in the center of Podenzano, in the province of Piacenza, at 118 m a.s.l.m., in the open Po Valley. The building has a rectangular structure and is made almost entirely of stone, with the exception of some portions made of bricks, with which some arches and lintels were created. The building has four corner towers: two, placed on the south-west and north-west corners, have a square base, while the two placed on the south-east and north-east have a round base. The towers are characterised by their considerable section, which contrasts with their height, which does not particularly exceed the line represented by the curtain walls, which are equipped with swallow-tailed battlements. Originally around the building there was a moat, which was crossed by a drawbridge located on the west-facing façade. The drawbridge is no longer present, however, traces of the seats which housed the anchors are visible.
