The Despar supermarket in the former Cinema Teatro Italia, owned by the Coin family and managed by Aspiag Service (the Despar concessionaire for the Northeast), invested over two and a half million euros in the restoration and remodeling of the building; the owners invested a similar amount. All this to prevent a neo-Gothic and Art Nouveau gem from falling into complete decay, abandoned for decades. The restoration of the building was conducted in close collaboration and under the supervision of the Superintendency, as was the supermarket's remodeling: the sophisticated solutions for shelving, lighting, and systems took into account the need to preserve the integrity of the rooms and decorations.
