The castle of Borgo Adorno was a fief of the Genoese family of the Spinola until 1518, the year in which Tolomeo Spinola remained without legitimate children and established his heirs the children of his friend Agostino Adorno. Towards the end of the seventeenth century the castle suffered damage due to a landslide. The marquis Luigi Botta Adorno then partially brought down the ancient castle and built the current elegant palace. The charm of the Borgo Adorno castle is due to its dominant position on an uncontaminated valley, without any structural or natural element of disorder, and the integrity of the structure. The first documents on Borgo Adorno date back to 1176. In 1518 the Castle became Adorno properties, an important Genoese Dogal Family, which, starting from the mid -1600s, decided to intervene on the structure that was transformed into the existing noble home today. This context, what makes the Castle of Borgo Adorno truly unique, is the presence, inside, of the collection of contemporary art of Clemen Parrocchetti, painter and artist, painter and artist, descendant of the Adorno, who lived and worked here for a long time.
