Over the winter of 2024, the Cass Scenic Railroad introduced a new service, the Winter Greenbrier Express, officially making the railroad into a year-round operation for the first time. These trains operate along the recently reopened C&O Greenbrier Line between Cass and Durbin, and when the weather is just right offers a rare opportunity to see the railroad's iconic Shay locomotives steaming through the snow-covered Allegheny Mountains.
