CASPER VAN DIEN, who has who has done it all in his career at this point, sat down for an interview to discuss his love of massive Blockbusters, the fun he's had with indie films, some of his past costars and his new film, THE FLOOD.

Casper Van Dien Jr. is best known for his lead role as Johnny Rico in the 1997 science-fiction action film Starship Troopers. He has also appeared in a large number of television and film roles, often in daytime and primetime soap operas, and a large number of TV movies and direct-to-video films, but has balanced that with massive films like Alita: Battle Angel and Tim Burton's Sleepy Hollow.
THE FLOOD is a low-budget thriller that has been touted as "Con-Air meets Anaconda". When a group of in-transit prisoners and their guards get caught in a massive hurricane in Louisiana, a horde of giant hungry alligators are unleashed on the group as the prison begins to flood.
It stars Nicky Whelan, Louis Mandylor, Randy Wayne, Devanny Pinn, Ryan Francise, Eoin O'Brien and Mike Ferguson. The film is directed by Brandon Slagle.
Van Dien plays convict Russell Cody, a stoic man with a mysterious past. Part of the jailbreak which kicks off the chaos of the film was because of Cody's ex-partner in crime, Rafe Calderon (Mandylor) coming to bust Cody out. As the night goes on and people start dying one-by-one it becomes a tense game of who can be trusted, and who can keep everyone alive.
During the interview, Van Dien reflects on some of the classic films he's made like Paul Verhoeven's STARSHIP TROOPERS, and Tim Burton's SLEEPY HOLLOW, trying out new things in his independent film work, and working with Christina Ricci and Johnny Depp.
