Anything that an American citizen must follow, by law, must necessarily follow the law. Judges cannot create rules that supersede the law, for any reason. In turn, deputies cannot not enforce rules or policies that are outside of the law. That's what these deputies are attempting to do and they are bullying me with their threat of arrest if I don't follow the illegal policies.
Their job is to enforce the law, that's it. They can't go outside that bound. This location is the Sarasota Main Courthouse in the downtown area. It is not private property. It is public property. If I was on private property, then they could ask me to leave for any reason if I didn't have the authority to remain on the property. But this building belongs to the people and I was there during business hours.
I don't think I would have thought twice about taking my hat off, but the office who told me to do it had just put his phone down near his waist and angled it up at my face, which implied he was going after facial recognition. He had no legal standing to do that. It was totally invasive. Then, he tells me to take my hat off. He already got the facial recognition, why would he now want my hat off? There was no sign that said I had to take my hat off. Beside, they would wand me, if it was an issue.
Both sheriff deputies and police officers use apps that ILLEGALLY allow them to hack into people's phones. They have also been ILLEGALLY using cellphones to break into people's phones, which allows them access to EVERYTHING on your phone. They then bust people based on the illegal info they obtained.They also do it to grab facial recognition, which they get results back on almost instantaneously. It's out of control. So, I knew this when I walked in the door, which means that when that guy aimed his Deputy MacDonaldo aimed his cell phone at me, I immediate realized there was a very strong chance he was going after facial recognition...and then telling me to take my hat off...after already violating my rights.
Those are the things that triggered my response and made me question the legality of my right to wear the hat. Had Deputy MacDonaldo not put that camera lens in my direction, none of this would have happened. But it did...and so it raised legal issues relating to an American citizens rights.
Cops follow laws. They enforce laws. Some of these cops work at clubs or have other second jobs, on private property. They seem to have a problem telling the difference between private property rights versus public property rights and where rights start and end. At your house, you have every right to tell someone to leave for any reason. But, on public property that is open tot he public, it's a different story. The public has the right to be there. Law enforcement never has the right to harass people or threaten to remove people simply because citizens want to know what law the officer is attempting to enforce. When the officer threatens to arrest you because you want to know what statute you are violating, he's acting tyrannically. It's technically an act of harassment, which is illegal, per the statutes.
When we don't stand up for our rights, we lost them. Cops and deputies (some, definitely not all) were out of control during COVID when people were trying to protect their rights. They are still trying to do that. It's wrong. We'll lose our country if we don't take a stand. I believe it is a moral obligation, as a citizen, as a patriot...as someone who loves freedom.
Remember, law enforcement is supposed to be on our side. They are their to protect and serve, not to harass and intimidate.
