Characters who changed names mid-season
Starting off we have Bumblebee switching to Goldbug in G1 Transformers. His name change was directly integrated in the lore after being repaired and upgraded with a gold body from being severely damaged and ripped apart by Superion. As such, Bumblebee declared that he is no longer just "Bumblebee," he is now Goldbug.
Up next is Token technically switching to Tolkien from South Park. Technically a different name since its a different spelling. The season 25 episode "The Big Fix," retcons the belief of the original spelling and establishes that his name was always Tolkien.
Next up is Ronoa Zoro from One Piece, specifically in the 4Kids English dub. This version systematically shifted to Zolo mid-broadcast stream to avoid legal copyright friction with the fictional character Zorro AKA Don Diego de la Vega,
Lastly we have Possante becoming Maximo in Cow and Chicken and its mini segment series titled I Am Weasel. This change happened due to an early dubbing translation shift to match the official localized title of the show and better capture the meaning of the original English segment name.
