Hilarious Self Inserts In Cartoons!
Hilarious Self inserts:
In the Batman Animated Series episode ‘Joker’s Millions.’ Joker holds auditions for a "Fake Harley", one of the rejected candidates in line is a caricature of Bruce Timm, the legendary animator and co-creator of Harley Quinn herself.
Whenever the Chowder cartoon ran out of animation budget, it would abruptly cut to a live-action puppet or live-action footage of the show's creator, C.H. Greenblatt. The characters would openly blame him for their problems, yell at him to keep drawing, or even mock his writing. They even break the forth wall and blame him for the budget.
While Stan Lee is famous for his MCU cameos, his absolute funniest self-inserts are the ones where he plays heavily satirized versions of himself. Like the time Brody questions him about hero logistics in Mallrats and when he was just a strip club DJ in Deadpool.
In the Simpsons, creator Matt Groening is depicted as an unhinged billionaire who keeps rabid attack dogs outside his office and unhesitatingly signs off on cheap, sometimes even dangerous merchandise just to milk his fans for cash.
And lastly we have Undertale! The game’s creator, Toby Fox, inserts himself in the game as a small, white, annoying dog named The Annoying Dog. The dog’s casually stroll into the frame always indicated massive lore you encountered which is ironic considering the active trolling it gives when clashing with the serious tone.
