The Castle At Carrickfergus dates to 1177 and has a history of Summer fairs going back centuries. It is remarkably well preserved. A recent annual Summer funfair, provided a rare contrast with the castle itself, and the more traditional activity going on nearby at the harbour and Belfast Lough.
