First, do not film bad weather...it is dangerous and only foolish people do it. Second, we had about 5 minutes of warning before the tornado arrived. I was outside my parent's house waiting for a neighbor to arrive to seek shelter in the basement. I saw the creation of a ribbon-like funnel but it was obscured by the rain droplets on the door (so, of course, I went outside). The black cloud that spawned the multiple funnels then passed over us but one of the funnels went behind the big willow tree and then turned left, luckily for us. You can see the funnel hit the lake but I was busy bravely running away at that point. The time in the basement (darkness) was not trimmed so I was only there for moments because you could hear the sound going away. Once I go back outside you can just see the end of the tornado across the lake and you will hear some trees falling in the background. I then took the Jeep out to clear the roads and check on neighbors. I think it was a good thing that we were at my folk's place this weekend, otherwise I would have been much more worried. Everyone was OK. Property damage seemed to be limited to a few garages and boats on the lake. The power returned the next morning. The date should read Sept. 1st.
