During quarantine, I got a bit stir crazy and started messing with my hydraulic power generator. I wanted to have a backup to my solar powered sump pump. I figured if I used the power of the water being pumped to generate energy, I could create a perpetual-motion machine. Obviously, that will not work but it was fun to play around with it. It could be used to create an indicator light for when the pump was working more than anything else. I just wanted to figure out how well the system worked for future use in the field.
