How Chinese breeder 帝王血賺 raise L600 juveniles 🇨🇳🐟

Some interesting husbandry advice directly from a Chinese breeder of the L600 “Emperor Blood Diamond” Pleco.

According to his experience, young L600s are surprisingly hardy and fast-growing when a few basic rules are followed:

🌡️ Temperature: 25–29°C
💧 pH: around 6.0–7.0, with stable water conditions being most important
🍤 Food: brine shrimp, frozen bloodworms and high-protein sinking foods, combined with some algae/Chlorella wafers
🍽️ Feeding: small meals several times a day — never overfeed. A slightly rounded belly is enough, and one fasting day per week is recommended
♻️ Filtration: very strong filtration and regular water changes, around 25% weekly
🪵 Setup: plenty of space, driftwood and hiding places. Bare-bottom tanks make maintenance especially easy

L600s can also become territorial, particularly towards their own kind, so enough space and shelters are important.
