The Coast Guard, and Coast Guard women in particular, have been remarkably successful earning coveted White House Fellowships in recent years. Since the founding of the program in 1964, the Coast Guard has placed ten White House Fellows, but eight in the past ten years—with six of them women! Over the next several weeks, Adm. Karl Schultz will be highlighting Coast Guard women who have served in this highly-competitive and prestigious program. This week, Capt. Holly Harrison encourages the U.S. Coast Guard enlisted corps to apply for the fellowship and outlines the application process. All Coast Guard members are eligible and encouraged to apply.
