How are beverage ends made?
Before an end gets its score line and tab, it starts as an aluminum shell.
The process begins in a shell press, where aluminum coil is blanked and drawn into shells at extremely high speeds. Those shells are then curled and transferred to a conversion press, where progressive tooling forms the opening features and rivets the tab into place.
