Lets continue Airshow Season 2022 returning to one of my favorite locations to film at; Hamilton for the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum's Skyfest 50 at Hamilton Int'l Airport. This was supposed to be a full fledged show happening at Brantford to celebrate the Museum's 50th anniversary but three months out, logistical reasons had the show cancelled and reduced down to a mini event; Skyfest 50.
The arrivals took place on Thursday-Friday June 23rd and 24th kicking things off with the RCAF CF-18 Hornet Demo team who arrived late Thursday afternoon. Friday saw the RCAF CF-18 Hornet Demo Team's Demo Hornet partake in a heritage photo flight with the CWHM B-25 Mitchell and a private P-51 Mustang based out of Oshawa. Next we had the CWHM's Fairey Firefly fly for the first time in 9 years doing some runs around the airport as well as the private Mustang doing some extra flights. The P-39 Airacobra and FW-190 from the Military Aviation Museum arrived shortly after but those weren't filmed due to a runway swap and some deadly decision making ;) However, the Supermarine Spitfire didn't disappoint being the last arrival of the day with an awesome sight as always.
Not filmed in this video are two southern Ontario based T-28 Trojans who also appeared, a RCAF CT-156 Harvard II and the Waterloo Warbirds' T-33 'Mako Shark'.
