Participants will be introduced to an innovative document and process for evaluating and improving standards of care in any sheltering environment across Canada. The following will be presented:
•The Association of Shelter Veterinarians (ASV) Guidelines for Standards of Care in Animal Shelters
•The Canadian Forward, Canadian References and the process undertaken by the Canadian Advisory Council on National Shelter Standards and its sub-group, the Canadian Committee for ASV Guidelines Review (CCAGR), in producing these inaugural documents
•The Mighty Excel Tool and a case study that bring the Guidelines to life in a practical real-life experience
