Dr. Jennifer Lohoefener and Daniel Neugent from the Institute for Information Sciences (I2S) discussed privacy and security concerns in AI education. They highlighted five common scenarios: uncertainty in privacy, data breach discovery, adopting new tools with unclear policies, accountability for AI misuse, and scope creep in data collection. They emphasized the importance of asking hard questions about data points collected, data retention, and breach response plans. Dr. Lohoefener noted the need for professional development and ethical guidelines to address these issues. They also discussed the rapid evolution of AI and the importance of not rushing to adopt new technologies without proper vetting.
