In 1937, the WPA put out a guide to San Diego that included a number of tours of the city. I wanted to see if it is possible to still do one of those tours today, and find out what has changed in nearly 90 years.

We traveled to San Diego's Old Town, starting at Presidio Park, and followed the guide from the 1930s, as we visited 17 different stops. Some still as the guide described and some, long since vanished.

The reprint of the 1937 WPA guide is called "San Diego in the 1930s. The WPA Guide to America's Finest City."
