Today I thought about putting myself through a pretty difficult challenge inside the first Harry Potter game for the PC. And that game is very notoriously known for being pretty scuffed and for a lot of mechanics that are kind of cool in theory but just don't actually work out well the way they are coded. And one of the worst examples for that is probably the spell learning minigame you have to do at the start of every lesson. It just doesn't work consistently and nobody really understands the way it's coded and how the percentage gets calculated. Until now hopefully!

Because our goal for this run is to get some kind of consistency for all 5 spell learning lessons in this game! And we are not just talking about consistently being able to beat all four stages of each of the spell learnings, that would honestly be way too easy. We are attempting to get the SAME percentage in every single round of each spell learning! And because we are incredibly immature and not very original we have set this specific percentage to 69% in every round of every spelllearning!

And I have to say I initially didn't really think a run like this would be possible at all. I expected it to be too random and too unpredictable for us to even have a chance to make it past Flipendo. But it turns out that if you do it correctly you can actually sort of manipulate the percentage you get and that it is actually coded in a way to be consistent between attempts. I guess we were wrong about the quality of this minigame for all these years...
