A major reason we are unable to tackle the climate crisis is that we’re losing a ‘War of Ideas’ (their term) waged by a group of rich libertarians over the fundamental question of who we are as human beings. A consideration of some ancient Greek, and Buddhist and Chinese philosophy can lead to a more salutary understanding of our situation that will let us avoid the worst effects of climate change.
