Hi everyone, Shane R. Monroe here. Today we are on the workbench with my absolute favorite controller of all time: The Suncom TAC-2.

These joysticks were built like tanks—literally using automotive tire valves for the centering mechanism! But even the "indestructible" USA models need a little TLC after 40 years. In this video, I’ll show you how to crack open the case (despite those weird screws), clean the oxidation off the metal-on-metal contacts, and get them running smooth as silk.

Plus, stick around for a quick gameplay session of Gyruss where I show you a must-know tip for C64 Ultimate users on how to swap joystick ports in software so you never have to unplug your controller again.
