From the Atlantic to the Pacific, two young ladies found that the biking across country was "terrific". Beginning on May 1, the two cyclists of "BVS Coast to Coast" were greeted by the waters of the Pacific Ocean, 110 days later on Monday, August 18 at Cannon Beach, Oregon.
Chelsea Goss, originally from Mechanicsville, VA. and Rebekah Maldonado-Nofziger, who grew up in Pettisville, Ohio, completed the tour with the support of many Church of the Brethren congregations and friends.
The journey began on the Atlantic Coast at Virginia Beach, VA. crossing 5,200 miles, through 14 states and Washington D.C. On the tour, Chelsea and Rebekah attended the Church of the Brethren Annual Conference in Columbus, Ohio as well as the National Youth Conference in Ft. Collins, Colorado.
Brethren Voices Host, Brent Carlson interviews Chelsea and Rebekah during a stop at Cascade Locks, Oregon prior to their completion of the trip on the Pacific Coast. "Brethren Voices" was also in Cannon Beach to view their entrance into the waters of the Pacific Ocean. The program concludes with a 5 minute music video as Chelsea and Rebekah bike through scenic Oregon on their way to Cannon Beach to the waters of the "Big Water" - the Pacific Ocean.
