Ruoxia Li and Eric Miller began serving as Co-Executive Directors of Global Mission for the Church of the Brethren on March 8, 2021. Their life journeys have taken them on some amazing and fascinating twists and turns. They grew up on different continents with different cultures. Ruoxia is from China; Eric grew up in York, Pennsylvania. Both attended colleges in the United States, with Eric studying anthropology at Juniata College in Huntingdon, PA; Ruoxia attended Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa. Later, they met for the first time in Beijing, China.
Brent Carlson interviewed the new Co-Executives of Global Mission via ZOOM, from Pinding, Shanxi Province, China. This edition of "Brethren Voices" is part-two of our meeting with them from their home in China.
Ruoxia shares about her first experience with hospice while volunteering for a non-profit agency in Blacksburg, VA. It was a totally new experience for her. Oddly enough, she introduces hospice to the hospital, in Pinding, China, where she grew up. That same hospital, had been founded by Brethren in 1911.
