Years ago, my first ever kayak cost me about 300 dollars. It was a toy by most standards. Even a small, nimble fellow like myself couldn't stand up on it. But with a lot of diy shenanigans, I eventually turned it into a nice fishing machine and it got me out on the water. Since then, I have worked with Pelican kayaks and helped them turn out some real nice, economical fishing machines that are ready for action right out of the factory. No diy'ing needed. Their philosophy of well made, entry level kayaks that won't break the bank has made them the world leader in small, plastic boats. And the fact that they let me in on the design process, makes me feel like I'm six foot five and 250 pounds! It's a good feeling for someone 5'5" one forty. It's why I mean it when I say, 'Thanks to my friends at Pelican'. And it's why I like to spread their word to get even more people to put a paddle in their hands. Or in some cases, a small electric trolling motor :^)
As for getting the Mode; supply issues have plagued the entire world. I know of at least one plastic boat company that has gone under because things like polyethylene can't be found. That and other challenges have delayed the availability of the Catch Mode. I'm waiting to release a promo code for the sales of that kayak, just like the current accessory promo code, but due to the difficulty in getting parts, I was told the only way to ensure that you get one as soon as possible is to get on a list that notifies you when they are ready for sale. It is supposed to already be somewhere on the Pelican website. As soon as I have more info on that, I will change this description and post the findings on my Facebook account.
