A tonal piece for piano solo based on a 12 tone row. The 12 tone row is indicated in the score in green notes. You will notice it repeats 3 times. The music starts on a tri-tone which is absolutely not done, and that's why I absolutely did it :) To me, here it creates a feeling comparable to stumbling into a piece that was already playing for a while. It's a technique I've encountered once in a story in a children's book and that stuck with me ever since. It may well have been an error in the book, maybe even a missing page, but it made a huge impression on me and although I've long since forgotten what the story was about, I still remember the impression the weird opening sentence made. The sentence being something like "Gramps was his name and he loved driving to the town on his bike...".
The title of the piece makes perfect sense to me. I'll leave it as an excercise for the interested reader to make it make sense to them as well.
