All over the world, there are many different kinds of hotels and places to stay, and for certain countries, they desire having the look and feel of elegance in just about everything that they do, especially when it comes to tourism.
It would not be a small thing to say that the United Arab Emirates have been working very hard in recent years to try and boost their credibility in terms of business and wealth. They're trying to bring in new tourism businesses via massive buildings and wonders. They've even had sports events in the nation for the first time in recent years.
In short, they're trying to show that this is a nation you should visit, and they're very much succeeding in all the ways that matter, and in the hotel industry they have gone above and beyond the call with the Burj Al Arab.
The Burj Al Arab is not only the 4th largest hotel in the world, but one that is shaped like a sail to give it a unique look. The hotel has all the amenities you would expect, world-class dining to eat in and rooms to stay in, and even the worlds tallest Atrium.

And there are a LOT of people paying attention to this place, for example, the htoel was recently named the "best hotel in the world" by the Ultratravel Awards. The Burj has frequently been called "the world's first seven-star hotel" and "the most luxurious hotel in the world" by travel writers and critics.
High praise indeed, wouldn't you say? And it'd be foolish to not note that one of the reasons why this hotel is so beloved and respected is that the builders of the place did not waste a single dollar in making sure that this hotel was extravagance personified in more ways than one.
" Adorned with more gold and marble than any reasonable person would choose, the Burj Al Arab impresses through the sheer force of its vision of luxury."
And for those who think that it might be good on the outside but rotten on the inside? Not so much:
" A guest's every whim is attended to, the architecture and design astounds with color, patterns, and vertigo, and extravagances like caviar and truffles find their way into numerous dishes at the hotel's restaurants."
And remember when I said that they didn't waste a single dollar? They honestly didn't, because in total this place cost $1 BILLION dollars to make inside and out. Yeah, that's a lot of money, but to be honest, compared to some of the other things they got going in the UAE, this is a relatively smaller investment in context.
Going back to the guests aspect of things, the staff in the Burj Al Arab is more than just window dressing, they're literally there to make sure that you have what you need, when you need it. I want to think about your more recent hotel experience. What would you say the ratio of workers were to the guests? 1:5? 1:6? Well, at this hotel, the staff to guest ratio is about 6:1. That's right, there are 6 times more staffers in this place than there are guests to actually reside in it. That's a lot of paid staff, but if you want to be a "Seven Star Hotel", then I guess you need to make sure that you have as many people as possible serving and waiting on as many people as possible.
I'm sure some of you are already intrigued about the place and want to stay there. Well, I got good news and bad news. The good news is that in context the rooms are very affordable (part of the UAE's initiative to make sure they appeal to as many people as possible), but the bad news is that "affordable" means that you'll be spending AT LEAST $1500 a night there in the place. Not to mention, getting to the UAE in order to sleep in the Burj Al Arab is not the cheapest thing to do, so if you decide to commit, you'll need to make sure you have the money to spend in the right places.
Oh, and for those who aren't strapped for cash, you can get even more luxurious rooms that cost you about $20,000 a night, if not more. So clearly this location has something for everyone. Speaking of location:
"The Burj's vision of luxury starts with its location. The hotel was built on a tiny man-made island a few hundred meters off the Dubai coastline. That means any would-be visitors must enter via guard-monitored bridge."
You might think it's odd that the UAE would make a man-made island just to go and make an island to put their stuff on it. But actually? They do it ALL THE TIME. In fact, over the last few years they've made SEVERAL man-made islands to put things like hotels, casinos, amusement parks and even businesses on it.

15. The Hamburglar Strikes!
Anyone who has ever been to a McDonalds knows that they have some very memorable characters. Including one that is very mischievous in the form of the Hamburglar. Which, as the name implies, is a character that likes to steal hamburgers from the fast food chain.
What does this have to do with Wal-Mart? Simple, a woman walked into the store one day and was basically dressed as the Hamburglar. Why they thought that this outfit was appropriate for a Wal-Mart is a mystery lost to time. But theres no doubt in anyones mind that this is rather hilarious. Especially when you consider that just behind this woman is a sign for a Big Mac.
Which proves that even the universe likes to create perfect moments inside a Wal-Mart. Although, without the person taking the shot, the moment may have been lost forever.
14. The funny Man In A Dress lol ( meanwhile at walmart..)
As a popular meme would say...but why though?
Here we have a man going about his day in Wal-Mart, but with one very key difference. Mainly, this man isnt in what you might call standard attire. Instead, this man (who is clearly in his sixties) is wearing a dress. The public reaction..
No, really, hes just going about his time while wearing a basic spring dress. And for those who are glad its a still image, youll notice that the skirt of the dress is pretty low cut. Why this man, who is complete with long beard, would want to wear such a thing is beyond me. My guess is that somewhere along the line, he lost a bet, a very big bet. Else, why even bother?
What might get lost in his dress wearing though is that he actually is wearing shoes to match the outfit. No matter the reasons, this is one image youll likely not get out of your head very soon.
13. The T-Rex ( strange)
Its a hard life being a dinosaur. You were the dominant species in the past eras of the world, then a meteor and an ice age wiped out most of your species and other dinosaurs and now youre forced to live life amongst humans, including going to a Wal-Mart to shop for now basic necessities. Its so tragic that this T-Rex has to go and belittle itself when it...wait, what? Oh, thats not an actual T-Rex? Thats just a guy in a T-Rex suit? Duly noted.
Truthfully though, these dinosaur suits have been all the rage the past few years. They dont just show up in places like Wal-Mart, theyre at Comic-Cons, sporting events, and one person actually took on American Ninja Warrior in a dinosaur suit, and succeeded!
What really makes this picture worth it though is that there are two older ladies next to the T-Rex and theyre just as perplexed as we are as to why this person is there in Wal-Mart in the outfit.
In this case, you honestly have to wonder why Wal-Mart actually let him in. It honestly is kind of a security risk if you think about it.

12. Father Of The Year
For all you parents out there, or people who are thinking of having children, you know better than most that the worst thing to do when you have a young child is go shopping with them. Theyll often never be quiet, ask and beg for things youre not going to get, and then whine and cry when you dont get them. its a never ending and honestly exhausting thing, but, you still have to do it.
But for this guy? Yeah, he takes things to another level, because whether this picture is to be believed or not, hes not paying attention to his child, and is having them try and push the cart theyre on instead of leading them ride inside the basket.
Again, we dont have the context here, but thats not exactly the proper way to treat a child. Even if hes playing a game, this can end badly REALLY quickly. Guess well have to hope it ended well for all parties involved.
11. Too Much Skin
Its a fact of life that people can have all kinds of body types, and should be comfortable with them even at their worst. Or at the very least, if they arent comfortable, be willing to work hard to get better so that they can be more comfortable. However, if you are a person who has an excess of body shall we say it is common courtesy to make sure youre clothed enough to not expose all of said excess.
This lady didnt get that memo.
To be honest, I dont even know what Im looking at for the most part. Thats a lot of back skin, and that thin top is not concealing it well at all!
Know your limits, and make sure to respect others with your clothing choices.
10. The Cheetah...Guy?
This is another that Im going to put under, But why though? Because not only is this man wearing a cheetah outfit, hes actually posing for the camera in this shot! There are so many questions running through my mind its honestly crazy.")
