Bumiputra Rockers vocalist Joey, whose real name was Johari Mat Rozekhi, died at Kuala Lumpur Hospital this morning. He was 63.

His wife, Zarinah Zainal, confirmed that Joey died at 8.11am.

She said the singer had performed at Laman Santai, Istana Budaya, yesterday, where he sang two songs before collapsing and being rushed to hospital.

Doctors later confirmed that he had suffered bleeding and complications related to a blocked heart artery.
