First of all: Since I reached 800 subscribers, next time I’ll upload a special video as thanks for sure, stay tuned for the topic! Ok, now let’s move on this video =D
My longplay of the NES version is here youtube.com/watch?v=Fs0oCVjjMf0.
This is the right copy of the NES version, so there’s nothing to add, besides three things I noticed during gameplay:
1) controls respond faster in this version rather than in the NES one, but are still confusing (down to rotate and A to drop pieces, like the NES version);
2) There are cool images of Russia after completing a round, but unlike the NES version there aren’t any dancers;
3) There aren’t any fireworks once completed the game (I was so disappointed for this).
In the Sharp X1 version I lost one life only in the first stage of round 5 because of the wrong pieces the game gave me (in the NES version I was luckier). Many times I risked a lot in this game all for the line fault. You have to hope not to need any line, because it almost never appears.
Because of this awkwardness, I created an idiom: “to be thrustworthy as a Tetris line” meaning “to be unreliable”.
Well, both versions are great. The music is catchy even in this one (sounds remind me of an X68000 game rather than an X1 one), so it's hard to make a comparison. I'm sorry for the lack of cool stuff here such as dancers at the end of the rounds and fireworks at the end of the game itself, but what it is really important in a game are the controls first of all and in this version are almost perfect, since they respond faster, as I said before. I hoped they had fixed the command button choice and it didn't happen, but it's okay.
Enjoy my video =)
