Three stages, but hard as hell because of huge enemy aggressiveness (I noticed later that there is even a second loop much harder than the previous one, but since the first one was already tough, I don’t care). It is developed in 1992 by Famibe, but published in micomBASIC magazine one year later.
At first, five blue squares come from the right side of the screen and they act as the options as in original Gradius game. Watch out not to lose a life, otherwise you’ll lose every option you managed to collect and it’d be hard to progress through the game.
As you noticed, there’s a safe point to dodge easily the purple bullets the second boss tosses at you: stay to the upper part of the left side of the screen.
This project was one of Yoshida's early works before he gained widespread fame in the indie (doujin) scene for creating the acclaimed 1997 shooter Cho Ren Sha 68K (I know this thanks to youtube.com/@VED).
At first, I didn’t understand well the title. I thought the title of this game was “Pacner II” instead of “Zacner II”.
This game needed a 60 FPS video recording, since the main ship laser and the boss tend to blink everytime.
With this, I shouldn't have any issue while recording Atari 2600 games someday LOL
Enjoy my video :D
