But what truly sets Meta's OOB Network apart is its ability to shine in the darkest of times - a catastrophic network outage that leaves you locked out of your Network and scrambling to recover it as quickly as possible.

Join us as we share how we’ve created an entire OOB ecosystem which leverages a completely independent infrastructure that allows us to reach Management Ethernet and Console backdoors under any network condition by leveraging an OOB VPN, OOB Servers to host critical backups and monitoring tools, and an independent OOB Backbone to stitch it all together.

ALEXANDER SADEGHI: A seasoned Network Engineer with a decade of industry experience, Alexander began his journey in computer networking while pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at UC Santa Cruz. An elective course in Computer Networks sparked a clear passion and set the direction for his career. He started as a Network Engineer at San Francisco International Airport (SFO), where he contributed for three years before joining Meta. Over the past 7+ years at Meta, he has primarily served as one of the Design and Operational Leads for the Out-of-Band and Disaster Recovery Networks, playing a key role in ensuring network resilience and reliability.
