• WFP and partners provide training in good agricultural practices to help increase production and reduce food losses.
Enhanced Market Access:
• WFP is enhancing financial inclusion, through village saving and loan associations and support to boost income-generating opportunities.
• WFP works with partners to provide both on-farm and off-farm livelihood support to families to increase and diversify their incomes.
• Village Saving and Loan Associations help to build a stronger financial base for investing in the business and to manage short-term needs such as access to agricultural inputs or veterinary support.
• WFP is linking smallholder farmers to predictable markets and aggregation networks
As a result of this, there is Increased agriculture production & higher incomes for smallholder farmers, among refugee and host communities, Higher resilience through improved production & agricultural markets, Enhanced financial literacy & better agricultural credit, and a Strengthened local food system.
