Explore the epic journey of Roman Emperor Trajan's Column built from marble blocks that travelled more than 200 nautical miles before reaching Rome.

The column was inaugurated in Trajan's Forum on 12 May in the year 113 AD and it served as a source of inspiration for artists and architects well into the 19th century. The exhibition showcases dozens of works from Italy's leading archaeological museums to illustrate the cultural, historical and artistic impact of the column on ancient and modern society.
