During our last hoorah in the deep snow and my quick overnight after returning home I realized that I had recently started belly scraping on certain trails and areas on our way to our campsites, There was also some obvious scrapping while we tackled the Marble Mountain Trail this past year. Skid plates are one of those things that probably should have been purchased first. However, when building a #Overlandtruck on a budget you often have to seek out certain deals and opportunities as they come, and sometimes they come when you're broke, and others come when you're not. Skids were always something I know I needed, I always took great care when running trails and roads alike, however, my rig is also my daily driver, therefore protection isn't just a mod for its own sake, its also a peace of mind modification, knowing the main parts of my drive train a covered and protected from those pesky trail demons that sneak out from behind those corners when you're not paying attention well enough. Cracking a pan or case and spilling fluid and metal everywhere is just not something that should happen, so I found a set of Aluminum skid plates for the #NissanFrontier in Edmonton Alberta being sold by a guy running a pretty decent side hustle, the drawings he used are found in the link below and are also well known as they are an original creation from a member of the Xterra nation forum who made them and placed them on there for people, Rock on dude. Long story short there was no shortage of modifications that needed to be done, holes not where they should be and at the time I was unaware that they were open-source drawings so I had to source them out to find out which changes needed to be made, this is how it went. in Typical #blindmanoverland style, I'm also sharing the drawings here for all my Nismo friends.
