This one finally came in the mail and it’s the 35mm trailer for the 2013 Blue Sky Studios movie, Epic. This is a nice find because this was made at a point where 20th Century Fox was beginning to abandon 35mm releasing altogether. It’s labeled as trailer version “L” which I’m not sure what that’s in reference to but I do know that judging by the last few frames of the reel it’s the final trailer of the film.

AS A BONUS, I’ve also included here the opening to my 35mm print of Osmosis Jones, which I spliced the Carmike intro onto for the sake of smooth playback.
I can smell the buttered popcorn just by playing this. Maybe it was just something about Carmike, but they always had some of the best popcorn around. That’s for the most part held over to the AMC Classic theaters that have been taken over, but it’s another reason I miss Carmike.
