Wanda Geter-Pataky and Alfredo Castillo rejected plea agreements in their Bridgeport ballot fraud cases and will continue to fight the charges against them.

The two are among nine people arrested on ballot fraud charges connected to Bridgeport’s 2019 and 2023 mayoral elections. Police say Geter-Pataky was captured on video illegally possessing absentee ballots and putting them into a drop box during the 2023 primary. A judge later ordered a redo election.

Geter-Pataky faces dozens of charges and was offered eight years in prison, suspended after three years, followed by three years of probation. Castillo, who currently serves on the Bridgeport City Council, was offered eight years in prison, suspended after two and a half years, followed by three years of probation. No trial date was set for either defendant.
