Finally, 71000 'Duke Of Gloucester' is seen on a loaded test run on the Severn Valley Railway after lengthy recommissioning work delayed its test run progamme by a few weeks. Nevertheless the Duke is now up and running as it begins its mileage accumulation stage before heading to the mainline for a test run up to 75mph. You may notice that the locomotive is not cosmetically complete. The Duke still requires lining out along with its cab number and a B.R crest on the tender. Unfortunately I couldn't cover its first day of loaded test runs as I didn't have my video gear, as I wasn't expecting it to do any loaded runs until next week, so you'll have to put up with an 8K phone shot, though looking back, it seems to of come out OK. Once the coaches have passed keep playing the video as you'll hear the loco being opened up and what a sound it made.
