↡ Rock Climbing Before Lockdown ↡
This was my last bouldering session before lockdown, outdoor rock climbing at Shipley Glen on a project that I haven’t visited for over a year.
I wanted to try Low Traverse as I’d come so close last year, falling several times at the last hard move. As it’s a fairly long route I thought my sport climbing training might make a difference this time around.
It’s a 7b bum-scraper. A lowball where you hit the floor before you realise you’ve fall off. Nevertheless, the moves are nice and I had fun trying out different beta options as there are so many places you can grip along the horizontal crack.
I like Shipley Glen as there’s a really varied circuit of problems. Many of the routes are eliminates, like the low traverse I was projecting, but that doesn’t matter too much when the climbing is fun.
