This is the first battle discussed in the Wylie E. Groves 9th grade Excel Elective entitled Warrior Women. Students are learning about powerful women throughout history. While none of them have a background in military history, we have discussed Greek and Roman tactics and have used cardboard cutouts to diagram the Battle of Thermopylae. This class is almost all young women and they are very interested in the topic. Any mistakes are my own and I tried to make the lesson understandable to 14-year-olds but still fun. If you have suggestions regarding information I could have added if I had more than 25 minutes I would like you to add to the comments. The students will make a presentation at the end of the class and teach us about a woman that they have researched who is particularly awesome to them. Thank you for watching.
