So maybe my old man's back acts up the day after splitting wood...I decided to try a log splitter. I am used to gas-operated versions but I wanted to see if a quiet model would still be effective. Short answer, yes. Is it faster to split by hand? It is for me but it may not be for someone who has an issue that makes it difficult to wield an axe.
