One of my subs wanted me to try and kill OP8 Hyperius solo as Axton without using any red text weapons. Since that meant I couldn't use about 95% of the gear I currently had, I farmed for the needed items using the Marcus HH pack.
Rather than trying to damage Hyperius when his minions were in repair mode, I decided to kill them all first so that Hyperius could get some alone time with my two slag turrets.
I used a Corrosive Tediore Plasma Caster to whittle down the health of Hype's minions, and once that ran dry, I switched to a Dahl Corrosive Rifle. The strategy was to position my turrets so that they could slag the minions and increase my damage output (I kept my Slag Transfusion Grenades handy in case of any health emergencies).
After the minions were gone, I put on my Trol...I mean, Pointman Com and Turtle Shield combo to survive Hyperius's Super Mario Phase. My already somewhat lacking damage output was further reduced as a trade-off for being almost immortal, so it took a while until the victory was achieved.
Aaaaaand with that, I think my solo raiding days are pretty much done. I'll still do raids with other people and things like that, but I've had my fill of solo raid boss challenges. This isn't directed at anybody, either. I just want to relax a little.
