WASHINGTON — Arkansas’ senior U.S. senator reiterated his disappointment Friday regarding his panel’s failure to advance a farm bill before the chamber’s August recess.
Sen. John Boozman, R-Ark., chairman of the U.S. Senate Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry Committee, acknowledged that Congress does not have “a lot of time left in the legislative calendar” to pass a single comprehensive farm bill when the Senate and House of Representatives resume legislative business in September. The House approved its farm bill proposal in April.
