Passage of Time | Book Review | Almost Human: The Astonishing Tale of Homo naledi (Berger) @passageoftime8561 | Uploaded July 2021 | Updated October 2024, 2 hours ago.
Hi everyone, I recently finished this book which recounts the exciting discoveries of two new species and their significance for human evolution. These species are Australopithecus sediba and Homo naledi and their discoveries are exciting not least because the manner in which they were found and excavated would make Indiana Jones envious, but because their morphologies, ages, etc helped change some long-held assumptions and understandings of the hominin family tree.
The video is longer as I attempt to explain some relevant concepts in palaeoanthropology for the viewer's understanding and I hope it doesn't bore everyone to extinction (ha).
