In this video I do what amounts to an excerpt from my new Intermittent Modified Fasting (IMF) book where across 5 detailed chapters I explain the concept of body composition, what it is, how to estimate it and how to track changes in both bodyfat and muscle gain.
This includes looking at the more technical ways of estimating BF% along with some simpler methods that can be shockingly accurate.
In some detail I look at the much maligned scale and explain how, used properly, it can actually give superior results to more complicated, expensive and time consuming methods.
Then I'll show you how combining it with one other simple metric you can determine basically everything you need to know about what's changing with both your bodyfat level and muscle mass (note: NOT the same as Lean Body Mass you illiterate cretins).
Finally I'll explain how to use those simple metrics to track your progress during fat loss phases, muscle gain phases and when you're goal is long-term maintenance of both.
And when you're tired of listening to fake scientific charlatans and want real information on changing body composition, well you can't go wrong with the following.
