Blue Öyster Cult’s second and third albums — Tyranny & Mutation (1973) and Secret Treaties (1974) — get the deluxe audiophile treatment from Speakers Corner in Germany. These all-analog reissues have been on the market for a while, but before they go out of print I decided to finally grab copies.
In this video, I share memories of seeing Blue Öyster Cult live in my hometown, reflect on what makes the band such a unique force in rock, and take a close look at the jackets, labels, and inserts. I also discuss the mastering choices, pressing quality, and overall sound impressions of these two Speakers Corner reissues.
