Lady Maria best Bloodborne boss battle confirmed. She certainly wasn't the most difficult, taking only 3 tries to beat, but I'll be damned if that fight wasn't AWESOME. Facing down another Hunter with a slick moveset which is then augmented by razor-sharp blood which is then made even MORE awesome by lighting the blood on fire...! I mean, it just doesn't get much more badass than that. It also helped that she A) has the best boss title in anything ever, B) is the poster child for the whole DLC, C) has a sweet intro cutscene (which I feel EVERY boss should have the first time you encounter them), and most importantly D) is apparently the person that my waifu the Hunter's Dream Doll was based off of. Who knew that such a quiet, gentle soul was originally inspired by such a violent, tragic person?
