Blind Descent first look and first impressions.
I jumped into the Blind Descent demo for about an hour to see how this Martian survival crafter is shaping up.
The big comparison point for me was Grounded, The Forest, and a little Green Hell, but Blind Descent still has its own identity thanks to the sci-fi setting, the story setup, and the infection/adaptation mechanics.
What stood out most was the voice acting, the mystery, and the overall direction of the game.
The rough spots were mostly performance issues and some interaction friction, especially with repetitive tasks like cooking and item handling.
Even with those issues, this was a solid unreleased demo and Blind Descent ended up a lot more on my radar by the end.
